In celebration of two centuries, Ardbeg presents this scarce edition, limited to 400 bottles, available exclusively through Ardbeg Embassy Stores. This whisky combines select 1974 bourbon and 1975 sherry casks from Ardbeg’s esteemed cellar, aged in barrels for 33 years. The barrels are blended to create a unique expression and then transferred to glass containers for an additional 8 years of careful maturation before bottling. The whisky's color is a rich, deep amber. Its scent unveils a balanced symphony of mellow yet striking aromas. It opens with sweet woodsmoke, progressing to a rich fragrance reminiscent of rum and raisin ice cream. Notes of freshly baked croissants, brioche, and bread blend seamlessly with dark chocolate truffle, black cherry, and aniseed, crafting a complex, inviting bouquet. The creamy texture offers a lavish array of flavors. Savor gentle notes of jasmine and Lapsang Souchong teas, accompanied by sweet toffee and a medley of cinnamon, pepper, star anise, and mixed spice. A juicy burst of Seville oranges mingles with delicately balanced smoke, enhancing the sophisticated flavor profile without overpowering it. The whisky concludes with a long, composed finish, rich in the sweetness of raisins and dates, leaving a lingering memory as pleasant as the experience itself.
