Romeo y Julieta was established in 1875 in Havana, Cuba, inspired by William Shakespeare's iconic play. In 1903, José Fernandez Rodriguez acquired the brand, growing it into one of Cuba's most renowned cigar labels. Under Fernandez's guidance, Romeo y Julieta gained international fame, including a cigar size that could be named after Winston Churchill. Despite changes after the 1959 Cuban Revolution, the Cuban Romeo y Julieta brand has maintained its reputation for classic, well-balanced flavors.
